About us

Spirits Capital is a fintech company that merges technology with the alternative asset class of premium American whiskey and other spirits. The Company's mission is to develop, utilize and monetize the spirits industry through technology driven platforms that enable investors, family offices and institutions to value, invest and profit on maturing spirits. Founded with a focus on American whiskey, Spirits has built a platform that provides investors with a secure and transparent way to capitalize on the growth in value of the spirit while it matures in the barrel. In addition, Spirits has created the Distilled Barrels Financial Exchange (“DBFEX”), a cutting-edge digital platform for the global trading of aged whiskey barrels. DBFEX uses a proprietary pricing tool, known as the Barrel Value Optimizer, to analyze an extensive array of market data and barrel-specific information to suggest optimal price ranges for aged whiskey barrels.

Todd Sanders is our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He is intensely entrepreneurial, with extensive knowledge of the small to medium size enterprise market. Mr. Sanders has been one of the largest beneficial shareholders and has held various senior executive and advisory positions with several technology, consumer goods, medical device and biopharmaceutical companies. He has assisted companies by assembling management teams, boards of directors and advisory boards, and formulating business, capital formation, and investor relations strategies for the companies. Mr. Sanders has a background in venture capital, investing, mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning and corporate finance. In his career Mr. Sanders has been a founder, executive, investor, board member, or consultant to over two dozen private and publicly traded companies with enterprise values in excess of $4 billion.

From there, Mr. Flynn moved into an executive finance role with a KKR-owned portfolio company. Following KKR’s sale to 3M, he spent five years with a publicly traded Aerospace & Defense manufacturer in the role of Vice President of Financial, Planning & Analysis. For the past two years, Pat has consulted primarily to Private Equity-backed businesses on financial and strategic initiatives. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.

Adam Handelsman is the Vice President of Corporate Communications for Spirits Capital. Over the past 25 years, Adam has worked with a wide range of brands, companies and organizations, and even a few of his personal heroes. His background, based in both the client-side and agency worlds, has enabled him to work with a diverse group of organizations from emerging brands to Fortune 100 corporations. Prior to founding his own firm, SpecOps, in 2012, Adam served as Managing Director of Media at LHA, where he built and directed media programs for public and private accounts. In previous roles, he served as the EVP of Strategic Media Relations for Cohn & Wolfe and as EVP & Partner at 5WPR.

Michael Shoer is the founder and principal of Victory Spirits Development, (victoryspirits.com) where he and a team of spirits industry veterans with experience in sales, marketing, distribution, analytics, and financial management work for brand owners and distillers. The company’s initiatives include the Victory Spirits Marketplace to sell and broker wholesale bulk spirits inventory on behalf of investors, distillers, and suppliers, as well as the Bourbon Bond Funds which provide opportunities for accredited investors to finance the distillation and aging of new make whiskeys, that upon maturity are added to the marketplace.
